Fichtelberg, at 1,215 meters, is the highest peak of the German part of the Ore Mountains, located directly above the spa town of Oberwiesenthal. The summit features a well-known mountain hotel, an observation tower, and the upper station of the historic aerial cableway – the oldest of its kind in Germany. The area is popular for skiing, hiking, and cycling tours, offering beautiful views of both Saxony and the Czech Republic.
